Do These Icons Make Sense?

Working on some new icons for tellmetwin.com, I am at a loss for what to use for love and hate.
The idea is that when you rate something the lowest or highest a little overlay appears in the upper right.
Do the below work? Which ones are better? Anything besides a heart or a skull to signify love and hate?
Or maybe something like the X in do not recommend again?
Bottom right works for me for hate. Not sure about the hearts – perhaps it’s just a matter of treatment.
But, to signify love we have hearts and perhaps xxoo
Other than that, can you be flexible? Example: Thumbs up/thumbs down?
