About Me

December 27th, 2009

I am an American Information Architect/Web Developer/Agile Development Manager currently living in Reykjavik Iceland Portland, Oregon.

After graduating from the University of Vermont in 1999 I moved to NYC and started working at Conde Net as a Web Developer on Phys.com. After a few months I was recruited to be part of the team building the first Vogue.com. Later I was part of the team that relaunched Vogue.com as Style.com.

I left Conde Net in 2001 to work at John Wiley & Sons at a new department started by friends/colleagues from Conde. I worked on a bunch of interesting internal and external websites including wiley.com, cliffsnotes.com, dummies.com and a few more.

I got the startup bug in 2007 and decided to move to West Virginia to help a friend start a biometric software company. It was crazy fun and challenging but I could only work there for a short period of time.

In 2008 I started looking at other startups on the west coast and came across an opening in Reykjavik Iceland. I moved to Iceland in May 2008, 3 months later the economy/currency collapsed and the country went into a depression known locally as the “kreppa”. – I never saw that one coming!
